100 Days of Happiness (79/100)

100 Days of Happiness (79/100)

The day was filled with house showings, so Peter, Jewel and I needed a place to spend the day.  We made a list of errands, and once they were done — we decided to spend this 52-degree, sunny winter day at Cheesequake State Park. I don’t know which of the three of us enjoyed it more?  Mmmmmm, maybe Jewel has a slight lead 🙂

100 Days of Happiness (77/100)

Yesterday, Peter and I drove down to Baltimore to meet up with a small circle of friends from my work.  My last day is rapidly approaching and they planned a Bon Voyage of sorts.  The food, drink and the company was just perfect.  If you are lucky, as I am, to meet certain people who transcend the “business” side of what you do together….and bond to each other through experiences that connect your hearts — Well — then you are living a bountiful life!

Toward the end of dinner – they pulled out a card and a gift.  When I opened the box, I found a Pandora bracelet.  Just beautiful.  That’s what my eyes told me.  What happened next, well…..it spoke to my heart. <3

100 Days of Happiness (75/100)

She can’t hear anymore.  One night when Peter was cooking steak, he set off the fire alarm in our kitchen.  She didn’t move an inch from her dog bed.  NOT NORMAL.  Pretty telling.  The last time that happened, I opened the back door to vent the kitchen, and she ran out.  I followed her, calling her name.  There she was, trotting down the sidewalk, heading to the field across the street.  I continued calling, calling her back…..and she would have none of it.  She was going to get as FAR away from the smokey kitchen as possible.  When she reached the corner, she stopped.  Then it happened.

She looked right.  She looked left.  THEN, she crossed the street.

Two major U.S. airlines are offering refunds to passengers worried about the Zika virus outbreak in many tropical countries.   United Airlines says customers booked to fly to areas affected by the virus can reschedule or get refunds.  On American Airlines however, you have to be a pregnant women traveling to parts of Central America to get the refund.

100 Days of Happiness (72/100)

Ahhh, so “shovel-mania” is well underway.  Here in our town, the estimates are between 24 and 28 inches of fresh January snow.  Peter completed phase 3 of his “dig out plan” this morning — the worst of the 3, because it includes opening up the apron after the snow plows came through.  UGH!  Now he (and his new snowblower) are over at our neighbor Andrew’s house — helping Andrew dig out.  Neighborly love.

Today’s happy thought is a GIFT for us all.   Hawaiian leis.

100 Days of Happiness (69 & 70/100)

100 Days of Happiness (69 & 70/100)

I’m a few days behind — so sorry for that — but I assure you my happy days continue!  As we all realize by now, this exercise is about perspective.  So here goes!

I’ve been away from writing because I landed in Newark Airport from LAX on Thursday night with a major winter cold!  Los Angeles, thanks for the pockets of sunshine AND the bacteria!

I soldier on.   My happiness has been brought to me by two faithful friends.  A big pot of tea and a bag of Halls. 🙂  #100happydays (69 & 70/100)
