obs

The Contestants:  Peter and Erin (and Jewel) in the Forerunner.  Caitlin and I in her Camry.

The Mission:  Get from North Carolina to Pennsylvania today….Eat along the way…..on plan with Weight Watchers plz…..

GO!!!

It’s not easy.  Believe me.  But it C.A.N. be done!

Here’s how the running of the mouse trap today went.

Starbucks Breakfast – Reduced Fat Turkey Bacon & White Cheddar Classic Sandwich & Grande Pike coffee black – 7sp

McDonalds Lunch – Artisan Grilled Chicken Sandwich & Diet coke – 9sp

Outback Dinner – 9oz Sirloin (8sp), Grilled Asparagus (2sp) a huge unsweet iced tea (0sp) & 1 scoop vanilla (6 sp)

Snacks – 2 apples (0sp)

Total day = 32 sp.  Exactly my daily smart points.

So — I haven’t been to Outback in YEARS!  So let me tell you a little about what I didn’t eat.

NY Style Cheese Cake – 68sp — (what exactly is in that?  My daughter Cait’s reaction (and I quote) — “ewww gross! “ Right on Cait!

Double Choc Mini Dessert Parfait – 31sp – gotta love that it’s mini, right?  Oh, and it costs $3.99  Sounds small, no?

Bloomin’ Onion – 75sp – even shared by 4 people — that’s bloomin’ crazy!

Aussie Cheese Fries – 63sp

Carrot Cake – 58sp – gross again

Chocolate Thunder from Down Under – 76sp – and again!

Chicken Cobb Salad 28sp  – It’s a salad, ……right??

Steakhouse Salad 30sp — more very expensive lettuce

Cheddar Bacon Burger – 34sp

12 oz Slow Roasted Prime Rib – 45 sp.

Lesson Learned:YOU CAN EAT OUT WHEN/IF YOU HAVE TO/WANT TO.  But Bring Your App….cuz, it’s scary out there!

How did today feel?   Honestly?  I wasn’t completely satisfied.  Let’s face it — I did not get enough food for the points I spent. But the goal of today was “satisfaction within reason”…..inside the mouse trap called “Eating While Traveling”    …so — Mission Accomplished!
