So what’s next?

So what’s next?

W.E.L.L……I figured it’s time to start putting My Marathon plan together.  Because if I learned anything with the Half, I learned that plans take time.  They need time to bake, and roast, and cook.  Time to soak it in….so when the Plan comes together in the end — it’s done, Done, DONE!

So here’ what I know so far……LOL……Oh….do I need to remind you that this fancy p.l.a.n. I’m talking about is of the “flying by my seat of the pants” type of plan?  Right, didn’t think so.    So, just like last time.  Take everything with a grain of salt.  I’m figuring this out by trial and error, covered with a layer of Google, and a healthy sprinkle of Marathon Brian.  But none of this is advice for you.   None of this should be followed by any of you without a good long conversation with your doctor about your health and exercise ability.  And besides, if advice is what you are looking for….HA!  You’ve made a Wrong Turn!!  There are hundreds of runners in better positions than me to give you loads of that.

What this blog and this journey promises you is plain and simple:    This is one person’s best effort to get herself ready for the Disney World Marathon in Orlando Florida on January 13, 2013 .  It will be presented in Technicolor complete with flaws, failures, and falls, as well as humor, humility and ……with a bit of luck……..tremendous amounts of unexpected learning, surprises and joy!

So come along then. ….. Willie Wonka had it right.  “So much time, and so little to do!  Strike that, reverse it.”

Ciao for now….Diane

About Diane

Ciao! My name is Diane. I'm a wife, a mom, a working professional, and a Weight Watcher from New Jersey. I started blogging in 2011, at 45 years old, when I was training for my first Half Marathon at Rutgers on April 22, 2012. Since then, I've lost 80 pounds, completed my Half Marathon goal and gone on to train for and run my very first Full Marathon. On Jan 13, 2013, I ran the Disney Marathon in Orlando, Fl! What an incredible day. As the saying goes -- "The person who starts the race is not the same person who finishes the race." I am forever changed! So now we move on to the next phase of this journey! Come along. We're in this together!! Ciao for now!
