365 Days of Happiness (193/365)

First and foremost – I am alright.

But I spent the afternoon in the Emergency Room.

I’ve been suffering (and ignoring) a pain behind my knee.  About a month ago, I twisted my ankle on a walk.  Simple bad footing on uneven pavement.   As it healed, I developed this pain behind my left knee.  I shouldn’t have let it go this long without seeing a doctor.  Well today, I was climbing the stairs at my mom’s house – and POP.  Down I went.   Couldn’t walk anymore.

The xrays confirmed nothing is broken, and my knee looks structurally sound.  It’s muscular.  They don’t ‘think’ the muscle is completely torn, but only time will tell.  I’m in a knee brace.  Can’t walk for the next 3-5 days.  Sitting on the couch….with my anti-inflamatory and pain meds.  Gotta see an orthopedist next week.

Ahh….never a dull moment.

I AM grateful that (at first blush) it doesn’t appear as bad as it could have been.  Some days…in this happiness journey…..you gotta look really small to find the good stuff.   That was today!  #ChooseHappiness365 (193/365)

Ciao for now….Diane

About Diane

Ciao! My name is Diane. I'm a wife, a mom, a working professional, and a Weight Watcher from New Jersey. I started blogging in 2011, at 45 years old, when I was training for my first Half Marathon at Rutgers on April 22, 2012. Since then, I've lost 80 pounds, completed my Half Marathon goal and gone on to train for and run my very first Full Marathon. On Jan 13, 2013, I ran the Disney Marathon in Orlando, Fl! What an incredible day. As the saying goes -- "The person who starts the race is not the same person who finishes the race." I am forever changed! So now we move on to the next phase of this journey! Come along. We're in this together!! Ciao for now!
