365 Days of Happiness (181/365)

It’s time to share the good news.  I got a new job!

Losing one’s job is a process.  Managing unemployment is a process.  Searching for a new job is a process.  Even getting hired is a process!   The verbal offer came a little over a week ago, then the letter, then the pre-employment screening, then the background check.  After ALL OF THAT — I think I’ve made it to the ‘excitement’ phase!

Peter and I will be moving to Maryland.  The next phase of our journey will begin — relocation!

I’m so excited to be joining a wonderful firm, with great people who are really excited to have me joining them.  Peter and I will use May to do some scouting for housing, find our new “home” (although it might be a temporary home, then our final one — we will see).  And then we have a beach trip planned in early June around a wedding — all before I start my new job in later June.

Thank you to everyone who helped me through this journey so far.   You helped in SOOO man ways — offered me advice, comfort, positivity and … (sometimes) a shoulder to cry on when I needed it.  This process was ALL everyone said it would be.  Surprising.  Scary at times.  Relaxing.  Nerve-wrecking.  And Exciting.

I feel like I’m nose pressed against a fence…..with one foot on the planks about to hoist myself over to the other side.  I can’t wait to see what’s over there!  I will be sure to let you know!   Love you guys!  #ChooseHappiness365 (181/365)

Ciao for now…Diane

About Diane

Ciao! My name is Diane. I'm a wife, a mom, a working professional, and a Weight Watcher from New Jersey. I started blogging in 2011, at 45 years old, when I was training for my first Half Marathon at Rutgers on April 22, 2012. Since then, I've lost 80 pounds, completed my Half Marathon goal and gone on to train for and run my very first Full Marathon. On Jan 13, 2013, I ran the Disney Marathon in Orlando, Fl! What an incredible day. As the saying goes -- "The person who starts the race is not the same person who finishes the race." I am forever changed! So now we move on to the next phase of this journey! Come along. We're in this together!! Ciao for now!
