Ok, so results first.  Long Run of 12 miles, done.  I ran the entire thing!  2 hours 30 mins.  Not fast, but — (Hey Diane, if speed really doesn’t matter, then when are you going to stop apologizing for lack of speed?)   Right, yes.  K.  So — long run was a success.  But it was a Tough Fight.  Let’s break down how it FELT. Winning Battles….

For anyone who dedicates themselves to a long-term goal — significant Weight Loss, a Marathon, Living a Balanced Happy Life…..whatever IT is — there are bound to be some tough battles along the way.    Learning how to win battles is an invaluable skill.  Ya gotta do it to survive the journey.  Hey — it’s warfare!!  If you are slayed on the battlefield on Day 1 — there is far less likely to be a Day 2, or Day 3, or….. you get me?  You don’t get to the finish line without Winning Battles. An “Emotional” Intervention

An “Emotional” Intervention

I’m feeling better.  My cold, fever, stomach ache, etc seem to have gone.  I’m relieved.  Cuz tomorrow is Sunday, Long Run Day.  I have 10 miles on the “To-Do” list tomorrow.  In addition to feeling crappy, all week-long I’ve been feeling kind of low, emotionally.  I don’t feel like I’ve had any “wins” this week, and it was bringing me down.  My ambition fell along with my feelings (nah, really?)….until it felt like I had to scrape it up off the floor like a dried up old paint spot.
