About Diane

Ciao! My name is Diane. Welcome to this most precious place, where I offer myself a safe place to be vulnerable and bravely grow throughout the life journey.

Still in the game!!

Still in the game!!

I haven’t written because we are still in the dark in my house in NJ from Hurricane Sandy. No generator here, so blogging is a luxury these days.  But I wanted you to know that I’ve kept up with my running through all of this.  I missed one 5 mile run this week due to cutting trees and general survival taking first priority….LoL.  But I’m still in the game.  Stick with me and I hope to be blogging again soon.  18 miles tomorrow!!  With my new Go-Girl in my zipper case….juuuuust in case!

Stay Safe and Warm friends.  These times are hard, but they too shall pass.

Ciao for now

I had a need…for speed

I had a need…for speed

This morning I wanted speed.  I wanted to go faster.  Faster than usual.  Faster than “the switch”.    So I didn’t listen to my body.  I did my first mile, the first of five, like I had something to prove to somebody.  And then at mile 1.48 — what I got from the whole experiment ……was walking.  Blown. (Not really, but I’ll explain).    So foolish.  Yo, Diane…..your body controls “the switch”, NOT your brain, remember??   Always listen to your body.  When it comes to this running stuff, your brain doesn’t know a thing!
