I started running again
and DANG…that first run was just as hard this time….as it was the first time. But as hard as it was to start….it felt 100 times better to finish. It changes you. It changed me. In just one run. I remembered how good it feels to conquer my fears.
Just like Glinda said…
Balance is all about Purpose
Allowing my mind to roam down the path of exploring balance — I immediately ran into a door of discovery. There is no way to answer the balance question – without first knowing a couple of things….
- Firstly, I need to know — what is important to me? I mean heck — these are the tasks, actions, time-consuming things that will occupy my time, energy and focus — all of which eventually need to be balanced.
- Then, I can’t figure out what is important to me, without first figuring out my purpose. My purpose? Like, my purpose…..as in, my entire purpose? In life? Ahhhh, this is the juice. Yes, my purpose in life ..is what drives me. Just as your purpose in life…is what drives you.
N.O.W you see the door of discovery—- what is my life’s purpose?? Wanna open it? Let’s go in.
the balancing act
Some days, do you feel like a member of the famous Flying Wallenda family? Walking the tight rope of life, performing the ultimate balancing act of e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g…..and working without a net?? Ahhh, welcome to Monday! It’s the ultimate IRONY that my meditation topic was about Balance today! Yes please. I want some!
staging a turn around
Alrighty! It’s tomorrow. Time to start something new! Step 2 is to get to my Weight Watchers Meeting and get on that scale. Hold on, Wait a minute. Then what’s Step 1? Well — Step 1 was to wake up, committed not to give a C.R.A.P what the scale said. Not even a little bit. Cuz a turn around has got to begin…..where-ever you are right now. It’s the only starting place there is. So, Step 1 done! Out the door to the meeting.
I just stopped.
Like I ran out of gas!
Best Mentor Ever!
I picked up the phone and dialed. When he answered, it went like this…..
Diane: “Marathon Brian, it’s Marathon Diane”
Brian: (wrapped in the warmest laughter) Hey!!!!!
Ahhhh, Friendship bridges all gaps in time and space! So here he is ladies and gentlemen — the One and Only!
just enJoying it!
I’m supposed to be training for this year’s running of the Rutgers’ Unite Half Marathon in April. But I’m not really training. I’m just running for Joy. Um….just?
