I’m a big thinker. A planner. A deliberate goal seeker. I over-work myself. I over-do it. Pedal-to-the-medal! Sometimes….it’s exhausting!
This approach to life – while passionate – can blow up on you if you don’t watch it closely. Even a Maserati gets a flat tire sometimes! With the running of the London Marathon today — it brings my mind back to my Marathon training strategy. If I had gone out for a.l.l. of those required training runs — with the weight of 26.2 miles on my back – all at once — the sheer burden of it , well….I would still be on the couch, instead of a Marathoner with a shiny (and VERY Cool) Finisher’s medal. Big goals, need to be tackled in little pieces. One run at a time, sometimes one tree at a time, one street sign at a time. One — whatever-it-takes at a time.
I’m going to try going back to my Marathon mentality. One day at a time, will bring me the prize I seek. Strength, energy, healthier food choices, self control, and (yes) weight loss.
Sage advice from an American hero. Great thanks Mr. President!
Ciao for now….Diane
