Peter and I will be building a new home in Ellicott City,  Maryland.

We’ve looked and looked in the downtown — everything we found was either to old, too small, or too expensive.  As we crept back out to the suburbs — the neighborhoods closest to downtown offered these adorable cottages with slate roofs.  Peter and I just didn’t have enough “house love” to take on that adventure.

On a lark, we went to see this new home development near Patapsco Park.  It was so new that the only homes there were the models!  Anyway, as we walked through, the first floor felt so open and bright and h.a.p.p.y.  

It was a h.a.p.p.y. home.

So we will have plenty of bedrooms for quests and returning college graduates 😉   We are really looking forward to it.  They say it could be done by February 1st if we have a mild winter.  Here’s hoping!
