An email arrived in my mailbox tonight. A few simple words from a former colleague. Former. Such a peculiar word. Designating an end of some sort. The only thing former about our relationship….is the work association. The peculiar mission that put us together in the first place. All the attachments…..that was our own personal doing. Our friendship? Quite present and alive, I assure you!
She misses me. My heart jumped a bit. It was something (I think) I knew already….but “lesson learned” for today — hearing lovely things that you already know –> never fails to feel wonderful.
She wrote of spring…and pussywillow and crocus. Yes, see — this friend and I have more in common than our mutual admiration and respect for each other. We share flowers.
She says ‘snowdrops’ are in bloom in Connecticut. I didn’t know what a ‘snowdrop’ was —– but oh my —- the beauty of a delicate white flower that carpets the ground. It’s true love, I assure you. #ChooseHappiness365 (115/365)
I miss you too Catherine. Always.
Ciao for now…..Diane
