Peter is driving Erin back to campus as I type. We thoroughly enjoyed the long Thanksgiving weekend with her home. Next home will be Caitlin. In just 12 days, she will finish her fall semester at Rollins and board a plane home from Florida for winter break! We’ll have Cait all to ourselves for a week before Erin s back.

On our way to the Columbia Mall this morning and decided to stop by the house. Right on target, they have begun framing. In a week or so, the roof will be on and Ben, our PM, says nothing will slow them down after that.

We spent the day after Thanksgiving at the Christmas Festival in Baltimore. An array of beautiful German Christmas merchandise and delicious food and beverage. Erin was all smiles. Peter held my hand as we walked around.

Sometimes family can’t be all together for Thanksgiving. Caity gathered with Mom and Deb in Florida. Erin, Peter and I snuggled in our Baltimore apartment with Jewel. The magic of FaceTime brought us together for a time. Then – like magic, our first Christmas Card of the season arrived…..and brought the whole day into perspective. “As Long As We Have Family, We Have Everything.”

Cannot even explain the emotional high I felt as I spotted them. Didn’t buy one, but the JOY in seeing them and smelling the fresh pine of the evergreen as I walked by…..was Christmas spirit!

Construction began on November 7th — wow, it’s really starting to look like something. It won’t house our Christmas tree this year, but it already hold all of our dreams.

When you move — and you are living in a temporary apartment — everything you own, minus what you brought with you, is still in storage.
And when this period of your life — lasts longer than you expected — and seasons change — with Christmas coming — and all your decorations are in bins/in storage/in New Jersey….. You Hafta Go Shopping!
