Two major U.S. airlines are offering refunds to passengers worried about the Zika virus outbreak in many tropical countries. United Airlines says customers booked to fly to areas affected by the virus can reschedule or get refunds. On American Airlines however, you have to be a pregnant women traveling to parts of Central America to get the refund.
The United Airlines offer began today and includes any country covered by a CDC travel notice. Peter and I had planned (many many months ago) to take a cruise out of Puerto Rico the last two weeks of February – but those plans were canceled when , well……“LIFE HAPPENED”.
We cancelled our cruise itinerary months ago and got a full refund. We figured the airfare was a loss. But not as of today! We are so grateful. That money matters these days. And I’m pretty nervous about the Zika virus, and would have cancelled our entire plan to avoid it. Canceling the whole deal is for the best! #100happydays (74/100)
