T-3 and Counting (adios coffee!)

T-3 and Counting (adios coffee!)

3 Days prior to the start of my juice cleanse, and its time to prepare.  Time to say good-bye to the one precious thing I might miss the most….time to say goodbye to coffee.  Ahhhhh.  I miss you already,  just thinking about it makes me choked up!  There’s no rule about coming around and smelling you a few times a day…is there?  {big sad eyes!}

Today the protocol looks like this.

Start the day with a cup of hot water with lemon.  Supposedly it starts the metabolism and cleans out your system.  Ok, I like the sound of that.  And I’m a fan of lemon.  Um, we usually smooch and kiss in pie form…..b.u.t……this cleanse is about re-birth, and growth, and butterfly creation…….so……lemon in water form it is!    Y.U.M.  (Did that sound believable?  Ok, well…it’s still early in this process, so…..)

Breakfast is coffee-free (g.u.l.p.), but green tea is on program.   Diane, feel free to drink green tea with reckless abandon.  I’m n.o.t. sure if green tea and “reckless abandon” have ever been put together in a sentence before, but…..there  I said it!

Breakfast is mainly fruit.  “They” say, it’s best to begin removing animal products right away, so this eliminates my normal things like eggs, turkey, and greek yogurt.  So I’m going to create a beautiful bowl of strawberries, blueberries and bananas.   For lunch, its more fruit and warm vegetable broth with steamed vegetables.  Dinner is the one time they allow protein — in the form of steamed or poached fish.  But only today.  No more after today.  So, I’m going to take the opportunity to devour steamed fish and veg for dinner.  Plus I have a huge tub of watermelon as a treat to snack on during this process.  Watermelon is special for me — haven’t had it since the end of summer!  Cool!

Ohhhhh…this is gonna be F.U.N!

Peter bought me a brand new Brita Water Pitcher.  It sits on the kitchen counter, calling me, encouraging me….m.o.c.k.i.n.g. me…..!!!      Shake it Off.  Shake it Off.  Butterfly.  butterfly.  Ain’t no caterpillars scared of no Brita Water Pitcher.    I’ll take you down!   I’ll drink you down!  Y.O.U. BRITA…are going DOWN!

So that’s the Plan.  T-3 and counting.

E.X.E.C.U.T.E!  No Excuses!

Ciao for now…..Diane
